too cool for school

So I've been doing really well lately. School is good. I'm making more friends. And my Spanish is improving a lot now that I actually talk to people.

Yesterday at school during MAE (i'm not sure exactly what that stands for, but its basically a study time), one guy, Arturo, played the piano for the second half of class (we happen to be in the music room). And he is an amazing player. He played a couple pieces by Chopin and I was thoroughly impressed. I think a lot of people were annoyed by the music, but it's been so long since I've heard anything like it, so I loved it. So that kind of made my day. And then, while I was walking home, some guy asked me where a certain street was, and I knew! So I answered in my broken Spanish, and he understood, so I guess I'm doing something right. But man, I felt so proud. Last week 2 people had come up to me asking questions, I think they were 'is there a place to eat around here' and 'where's the metro stop' and I had to say I don't know, sorry. But yesterday I didn't! Ah. I just felt really good.

So then today, I also had a really good day. School was good because I didn't have any science classes (which I'm not good at, and its much harder in Spanish) and I had PE and English, which are my favorites. In PE I found out I'm the fastest girl in my class, which doesn't sound like much, but it just feels great to succeed in something. Aaand everyone else was impressed so that was good, too. Lol. So then we had turorĂa, which is when our 'tutor' comes and sees if all our classes are working out and stuff. So basically a free hour. And during that I told Arturo I loved when he played piano the day before, and we started talking and 2 other guys joined us and it was just really fun because I was included in the conversation and learning new words and talking about the US and where I live and it was just nice :)

So yeah. I've been doing well.
