my mom thought the tomatoes and salt and pepper would add a nice touch to the picture. Gotta love her

tortillaaaaaaas!
So today we made a very simple tapa. Tortillas. But these were very special tortillas. Well, not really. But I've never had anything like them. They were simply a mix of potato, eggs, and union. They were fantastic, although I did add ketchup on top. So yeah, that's all really. Here's a picture:

day 5 salmorejo and pins
So today was very exciting! In the morning we went to multiple pawn shops bc I am looking for a nice camera for my trip. However, I didn't find any :(
But we also went to Michaels and got pin stuff. So we made pins this afternoon and they turned out really well!
(before)
(after)
(after, my sisters)
So for day 5 of 100 tapas, we have salmorejo, my mums favorite. First we blended tomatoes, garlic and bread crumbs.
yay! All done.
So that's salmorejo. I am not a big fan of tomatoes so I didn't particularly like this dish but my mom loves it! Also for dinner we had eggplant parmesan which was also fantastic.

Sisterly love
on a side note my sister saw my blog and said she wanted to be on it, so here she is! she's so pretty and smart, I love her to death
albondigas. day 4!
So today we're making albondigas-meatballs. First we chopped up sausages (below, me)
And then we mixed that together with a pound of meat and kneaded it (below, sisters). Then added a mix of cream, bread, garlic, and parsley, which you can see above in the blender right next to the cute baby nephew.

On the side we made sauce (below, mom) out of tomatoes and some stuff I cant remember.
and an after-the-bread picture with my beautiful sister and her weird faces.
so yeah that's that for today. ending quote from my beloved step-dad:

so then we made the meat into balls and rolled it in flour and bread crumbs (below, seen on plate) and then fried them in oily oil to make them delicious
so yeah, we fried 'em up and they taste awesome!
and here's a before-the-bread picture below in the bowl.

Day 3
It's August! Summer is coming to a close and Spain is on it's way. Buuuuut I've still got time. On the topic of visas, mine is delayed once again. My dad and I just found out we need my birth certificate apostilled. Yeah, it stinks. However, after that gets back my dad will go and apply for my visa in my place and the process will begin.
100 tapas time! Yesterday we made baked brie. That's cheese if you didn't know. We made this mix of amaretto and brown sugar and spices, etc, and poured it over the cheese. It was then put in the oven and baked, and we ate it atop French bread. It was delicious. Today we made a tapa that we have named the tuna boat. We hardboiled eggs, cut them in half and removed the yellows, to be used in tomorrows tapa. We also made some tuna with green union. The egg was placed in a small indent made into the French bread (yes, we use French bread every time, it's just how it works) and the tuna was placed atop of that. The reason we called it the tuna boat is because my mum told me to decorate it with green onion, and I chopped some up and placed it on top of the tuna in a chimney fashion. While we were eating it we were comparing it to the Titanic and icebergs and yeah, I don't know why I wrote that, but we did. So those were the tapas for these two days. Tomorrow I believe we're making salmarenjo or something to that extent. My mum says it's one of her favorites.
So for an ending quote I'm choosing words from one of my favorite authors, Clive Staples Lewis:
God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
